I’m a science writer covering research from the McKelvey School of Engineering and brain sciences. Prior to joining the university, I was a freelance science journalist for more than a decade, with stories appearing in the news sections of the journal PNAS, Nature Medicine, Discover magazine and NOVA, among other publications.

I am a member of both the National Association of Science Writers and the Association of Health Care Journalists and earned bachelor’s degrees in journalism and in environmental studies from the University of Kansas.

I’ve lived in St. Charles with my husband and two children since 2012 and am an avid gardener who can talk about my chickens endlessly.
