As the assistant vice chancellor for strategic communications and marketing, my primary responsibility is to maximize our efforts to ensure WashU is appreciated as a world-class center of academic and research excellence. To that end, I engage, inspire and motivate key external and internal stakeholders; providing strategic counsel regarding brand positioning and adherence, major communications campaigns, and other opportunities to showcase the university’s work and impact — all with defined goals and outcomes in mind.
Along with our senior creative director, I’m lucky to oversee an exceptionally talented group of creative, editorial and multimedia staff who share a passion for marketing, storytelling and ideas that work. In this role, I’m able to build cross-functional, integrated teams to carry out our strategies to achieve our goals.
During my career, I’ve had the pleasure of working at a number of marketing agencies, driving brand-building for national and local accounts. Prior to joining WashU, I was the AVC of Marketing and Communications at the University of Missouri–St. Louis, where I received my MBA in 2016.
When not in the office you will usually find me spending time with my kids, taking long walks around my neighborhood, or exploring St. Louis in search of live music. (Recommendations are always appreciated!)
