We are all WashU. All promotional items and apparel will by default feature the top-level WashU logo.

Use of logos and names

  • The minimum imprint size for the WashU logo is 1.5” wide. Exceptions may be made depending on the item and decoration method.
  • Exceptions will sometimes be necessary. If, for example, in rare cases where a very small imprint space is all that is available and the logo would not reproduce well, use either “WashU” or “Washington University in St. Louis” in a brand font. (examples: pen, keychain, carabiner)
  • Never “Washington,” “Washington U.,” “Washington University,” “WUSTL,” or “WU.”
  • When “WashU” is used in plain text, IvyStyle Sans must be used. Never use IvyPresto Headline.
  • School-level logos may be used instead of the WashU logo for school-specific needs.
  • Student groups may use “WashU” in plain text. Affinity groups must use the official WashU logo, and it must appear as a separate design element (not embedded or altered).

Departments may incorporate their names onto WashU promo items. Please see examples below.

Use of school logos

Schools may incorporate their names onto WashU promo items. School logos should appear in full color, 1-color black, or 1-color white. School logos are not allowed in 1-color red. Please see examples below.

Use of illustration and design

Illustrations/designs will be allowed but must include the top-level WashU logo with protective space.

Use of the athletics logos

Use of the official athletics logos internally will be reserved for the WashU Athletics. Only the official athletics logos may be used on Nike-branded merchandise.
