WashU-branded merchandise uses a limited color palette for acceptable products — both wearables and gift items.
Brand colors
The primary color of WashU red and secondary color of WashU green should be used.

Items should be a bright true red.
Secondary Color
WashU green
PMS 350 – Other acceptable dark green shades are forest green, evergreen, etc.
Subject to approval on a case-by-case basis
White, Gray, and Black
Any shade of gray, from light to dark is permitted.
Warm neutrals for background use only
Acceptable shades include oatmeal, beige, natural, etc.
Colors not approved for use
The following colors should not be used on branded merchandise in any case unless an official exception has been made.
No fashion colors
- No fashion colors will be allowed.
- No distressed, camouflage or other non-traditional styles will be allowed.
- Fashion colors will not be allowed with the university’s logo or athletic logo.
Exceptions for fashion colors will be considered by University MarComm if an event indicates a possible advantage for use of a fashion color.
No accent colors
WashU accent colors are not approved for merchandise.
No variations of WashU red
No wine, maroon, burgundy or pink.
No variations of WashU green
No bright green, yellow-green or olive.
No variations of warm neutrals
No tan, khaki or light brown.
